Glasgow Accent Tag

Today I thought that I would do the Accent Tag this tag has been around for a while but I saw the lovely Stephanie do it on her youtube channel (link) she also has an awesome blog (link) & thought it would be a fun tag to do. I've lived in Glasgow most of my life and have quite a strong accent (I'm sure we all adapt our 'choice' of words depending on who we talk to). In my videos I do try to speak more slow than what I usually would as I find that I can speak a thousand miles an hour, also my boyfriend is from Manchester so when I visit the in laws they sometimes struggle to understand what I say especially if |I've had a few drinks! haha.
 Say these words
Aunt, Roof, Route, Wash, Oil, Theatre, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pyjamas, Caught, Naturally, Aluminium, Envelope

The Questions:
    1. What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
    2. What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
    3. What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
    4. What do you call gym shoes?
    5. What do you say to address a group of people?
    6. What do you call the kind of spider (or spider-like creature) that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
    7. What do you call your grandparents?
    8. What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
    9. What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
    10. What is the thing you change the TV channel with?
Bonous Glaswegin slang
Aye, naw, wee, lassie, whitey, gonnae, ehhh, boak, boggin, fiver, clatty, cats died or budgied.

Hope you enjoy the video & let me know if you have done/do this tag!

Have you bought anything from Primark recently?

Muslim Wedding Guest Attire

Last weekend I was lucky enough to be invited to a Pakistani Muslim wedding and thought I would share the outfit that I wore. I don't actually know either of the families but my boyfriend Graeme is friends with the groom. Traditionally this type of wedding lasts for three days & this was the outfit I wore for day two which was the wedding day. I had no idea what to wear or what to expect either but luckily the grooms family helped pick out both our outfits. The wedding was held in Birmingham in a huge marquee at the grounds of a beautiful hotel. The venue was simplistic in cream and decorated with sparkly jewels and roses. Everyone wore traditional dress which was a sea of deep vibrant colours, the bride was stunning and beautifully draped in crimson red and gold. The contrast of the venue and attire was truly breathtaking. The day itself was so much fun and was lovely to see a traditional Muslim wedding as it's so different from weddings I've attended before.

New Shoes? Primark of course!

Primark- £14
Through the gloom of the typical Glasgow weather I decided to cheer myself up by heading to Primark for a little bargain hunt. I didn't go there for any particular item(s) but as usual I scurried out of there clutching the infamous brown paper bag that nicely turned to mush by the time I got to the end of the street. There may be a little haul soon so look out for that! When I first spotted these I ran straight over & was met with two different styles these closed toe pair pictured above & another similar pair with gold hardware & open toes. It wasn't a hard decision to pick between them both as the gold buckles was a little to blingy & they showed far to many toes (if they makes any sense). I'm sure they would look gorgeous on someone else just not me. These sandals are great quality its the softest faux leather & extremely comfortable. The ankle straps have stretch & there's a zip in the back so no need for faffing about with the buckles. They are also very similar to others I've seen on the high street for at least double the price!! £14 well spent & I can't wait to wear them, if you haven't been to Primark in a while & are looking for some cute chunky sandals grab them quick before the sun come out! Bravo Primark!!

Slimming World Update Month 1. Lost 7.5 pounds!

Slimming World Update Month 1

So I made it through my 1st month of Slimming World & if you read my blog you may be slightly confused as the last time I mentioned Slimming World it was the end of December. Well truth be told trying to do it online on my own without actually going to classes just didn't work for me. As previously mentioned when I came back from holiday I was mortified to find out I'd put on quite a few pounds in 10 short days so that gave me the kick that needed to do something about my weight! My first class was on the 11th of February and have been losing much needed pounds ever since.

I don't know what it is about going to class every week that makes something switch in my mind that allows me to make a choice 'yes my partner wants to go to the drive through, yes I would usually get an unhealthy meal- but do I really want it now? For the past month the answer has been surprisingly no. I'm not saying I'm giving up the junk food forever but I've not really felt the urge to cry just because people around me are eating take aways as I don't necessarily feel deprived of the bad stuff. I just choose not to have it 'this time' & I still have syns to use that keeps me sane. Trust me I'm not the type of person that has a lot of willpower, I usually give up on the first hurdle which isn't one of my best qualities.

If your wondering I've been following the 'extra easy' plan as I can just eat everything, to be honest I haven't really bothered looking at the 'red' and 'green' days as I seem to be doing fine at the moment. At the most I would love to lose four stone but I would be extremely happy if I lost 2.5 to 3 stone or even just see how I get along.

This is how I've done so far:
18th Feb -3
25th Feb -2.5
4th Mar -0.5
11 Mar -1.5
Month 1 total loss 7.5 pounds

I think I've done pretty well considering I haven't done any exercise whatsoever & I have been non stop eating. I even had a a boozy night last Saturday & that 1.5 pounds loss that week really took me by surprise as I had quite alot to drink that night & a killer hangover to prove it! Must of been all the shapes I was cutting- my dance moves are truly awful! As much as I enjoy going to the weekly classes I do sometimes feel disheartened when I see some people losing 7.5 pounds in a week but everyone is different & I'm happy with the progress I've made. I even got my 1st sticker & certificate on Tuesday for losing 1/2 stone! Wooooo its all about the stickers! I'll update every month to let you know how I've been getting on. If your thinking about joining Slimming World I say go for it!

Winter Holiday: Tenerife Vlogs 5/6 Quad safari & Beach Views Playa De Las Americas

Quad Safari
Today for part 5 of our Tenerife Vlogs we went quad biking through the forest on road & off road. The quad experience lasted for 3hrs & it was amazing! We booked through our hotel & we got picked up at the hotel & dropped off by the Quad Safari company. The staff were so friendly & went through all of the safety procedures & provided everyone with protective helmets/jackets. We bought a dvd with lots of footage of our adventure but unfortunately it got damaged on the way home back to the UK so I only managed to salvage a little footage. Again highly recommended!!
Beach Views Playa De Las Americas
For the Part 6 and the final part of my vlogs (took me long enough)! We explored Playe de Las Americas which was just a couple of miles away from our hotel at Costa Adeje. We went to the local shopping centre to pick up some souvenirs for the family & sunbathed at the beach. As much as we loved Costa Adeje we've decided that the next time we visit Tenerife we are coming to stay at Playa De Las Americas!
Hope you enjoyed my winter holiday series  & apologies for taking so long to upload everything!

Winter Holiday: Tenerife Vlogs Part 3/4 Siam Park & Jungle Park

 Siam Park
In part 3 of our Tenerife Vlogs we went to the amazing Siam Water Park! Its in Costa Adeje & not far from the hotel we stayed at (Fanabe Costasur) so the journey didn't take long & the free bus came every 20min. Words can't describe how much fun we had here & the fact that it was the winter season there was no queues whatsoever! We went on each ride several times in a row. Its a fair walk up the stairs to each ride especially the Tower of Power! 2x rides were sadly closed for maintenance The Volcano & The Giant but we still had fun on the rest of the rides. The staff were very safety conscience & told each person the safety procedure before each ride- I even got a (jokey) telling off at the bottom of The Tower of Power for uncrossing my legs (I didn't even realise that I did). The staff had good banter & seem to enjoy their jobs. We plan on coming back very soon!
Jungle Safari
For Part 4 of my Tenerife Vlogs we went to the amazing Jungle Park Zoo that was located not far from our hotel. To get there we booked a coach in advance to drop us off & pick us up so we didn't have to bother with taxis etc. We had so much fun there & theres lots of animals to see including a bird of prey, exotic bird show & a sea lion show.. Theres even a roller coaster ride there called 'Bob' but it was unfortunately closed for maintenance. During our visit my camera died & I had to use my phone to take the majority of this footage & couldn't get any proper close ups of these beautiful animals. Highly recommended that you give this place a visit the next time you go to Tenerife!

Winter Holiday: Tenerife Vlog Part 1/2 Boat Trip Fail & Loro Parque Zoo

Hello it feels like forever since I last blogged but I wanted to do a post about my amazing holiday away to Tenerife! We went away on the 28th of January for 10 nights, I still can't believe I'm back to this horrible weather it was over 20 degrees which is as hot as I can handle- I'm not much of a sun worshipper even though I was out everyday to my dismay my tan seems to be non existent & replaced by lots of freckles.
We stayed at the Fanabe Costasur Hotel In Costa Adeje, its a 4 star hotel which I think is pretty generous as I'd say the decor is pretty outdated & could be doing with a whole refurbish. Saying that though we couldn't fault the place for cleanliness as the whole place was constantly scrubbed by the cleaners who were up at the crack of dawn every morning doing so. The food was also amazing with fresh fish, chicken, beef etc prepared in front of you. I'm not usually adventurous with food but I made an effort to to go out my comfort zone & try everything. We went all inclusive & I had more than my fair share of tequila sunrise cocktails, as much fun as I had to my shame I put on half a stone in those 10 short days. Would you believe if I said I was up early every morning going on adventures & walking for miles? All that aside I started Slimming World properly this time on Tuesday so hopefully I can say goodbye to this weight gain. The best part of the hotel other than the food was the rooftop sunbathing area (there was even a closed off part for the adventurous nudists)! There's also two pools & a bar even though this is a family friendly hotel the rooftop is for adults only.

Tenerife Vlog Part 1: Exploring Costa Adeje & Boat Trip Fail!
On our first adventure we went on a 3 hour boat trip to see the whales, we chose a smaller boat that fitted about 20 people. On this particular trip they provide lunch & set up dock so you can see the turtles & snorkel with them. Before getting on the boat we were warned the the waves were pretty rough, I didn't mind as I have been on a boat in the Philippines from Cebu to Leyte with cattle (I'll tell this story another time). Graeme said he didn't mind as he'd never been on a boat. On the first hour or so the waves were pretty huge but we sat at the front clinging on to the banisters like it was an amazing theme park ride. The novelty soon wore off when Graeme started vomiting everywhere! We did see some whales but didn't actually film them. Two hours into the journey the 'captain' asked if we wanted to head to the dock for lunch as the boat was thrashing about & having lunch at the middle of the sea didn't sound too pleasant. We all agreed & when we hit the dock Graeme nearly elbow smashed the 'captain' to get off the boat & vowed never to go on a boat again! Quite a few other people had been sea sick & got off too so it wasn't too embarrassing. I was gutted we didn't see the turtles & unfortunately that boat trip has put me off going on any other water adventures in the near future.
Tenerife Vlog Part 2: Loro Parque Zoo
Today we went to the amazing Loro Parque it was located on the other side of the island in Tenerife & we had to take a coach there at 8.30am that took an hour and & half to get there & the only coach home was at 4pm. I must admit I was dreading the journey but it was totally worth it! Don't be put off by the journey as we had a brilliant time. I didn't even manage to film the bird show & sea lion show- both so funny! Unfortunately the dolphin show was cancelled due to maintenance but did manage to film the Orca (killer) whale show. I've been to zoos before but this was by far the best & there's so much to do, I'm no expert but to me the animals are much loved & cared for. Loro Parque Zoo started off as a bird sanctuary and has expanded dramatically to home animals from reptiles to white tigers so there's plenty of  truly amazing creatures to see. There's also lots of places to eat- even a little roller coaster for the kids! If you ever go to Tenerife you have to visit Loro Parque you won't be disappointed.

Stay tuned for more vlogs from Tenerife.

Huge Primark Haul!

Hello! I have a huge Primark haul to share with you today, like everyone else I love this place & went a little bit mad in there recently. These have been purchased over a few weeks some of the stuff was on sale (who knew they had sales in there) & the rest is geared more towards summer clothing (yes its already started creeping in the shops). I know its far too early to speaking of bleak sunshine & the so called 'Summer' we get in Scotland but I'm going on holiday at the end of January! I am beyond excited to get away! Hope you enjoy the video & you will see outfit posts of me wearing this stuff in the oncoming weeks.

Have you bought anything from Primark recently?

My very dry/sensitive/eczema prone skin care routine

Hello, So today I thought I would share my skincare routine I have very dry/sensitive/eczema prone skin & have recently been getting breakouts to add to the mix. When I was younger I don't remember my skin being this dry however I do remember my eczema flaring up on my face i.e eyelids & cupids bow since I was abut 7years old & haven't grown out of it. It's been a lot of trial & error through the years trying to find what makes my skin relatively happy & not feel like the burning pits of hell or so dry that I can barely move my face.
Morning Routine
Morning Routine
To cleanse my face in the morning I use Vichy Purete Thermale one step cleanser (link) its 3in1 with cleansing milk, toner & eye make remover. I tend to have my showers at night time & do a more traditional cleansing routine there. The reason I do it this way is when my face has contact with water it feels tight & sore even if I just get caught in the rain, then having tone/moisturize & put make up on is a pretty big ordeal for my skin. Switching this routine from morning to night has benefited me much more & I can get some more sleep in the morning which is always a bonus in my eyes! To use this Vichy cleanser I just put some on a cotton pad & wipe all over my face in circular motions it also has toner too so I can skip another step (yay). I can't recommend this enough it leaves my skin clean, plump & soft what more can I ask for?  I used to use the infamous Loreal 3in1 Miscellar solution (link) but in the time that I used it I was covered in very sore under the skin spots, I was in denial & blamed every other product but in the few weeks that I've stopped using it my skin has cleared up. I then moisturize with my Aveeno cream (link) this has been amazing & has vastly improved the condition of my skin, I rarely have eczema flare ups since using this & in turn don't often need to turn to any nasty steroid creams. I let the Aveeno cream sink in while I try & fix the bird's nest that is my hair then use another moisturizer as a make up base, such as Olay day fluid for sensitive skin (link) or Garnier Moisture Match Ultra Hydrating Cream (link). These are both great and keep my skin hydrated all day my face needs all the moisture it can get.

Night Time Routine
 Night Time Routine
When I come home I use the Vichy cleanser again to remove my make-up & then do my night time routine in the shower first I use a face scrub such as Clinique 7 day scrub cream (link) this is the travel size. This is my favorite it has the perfect consistency of beads & haven't found any other scrubs that compare, others I've tried are either too harsh or the beads are non-existent & shouldn't be called a scrub- the search continues for a cheaper alternative. To cleanse I use L'Oreal soothing gel cream wash (link) it really does soothe my skin even when irritated with eczema & doesn't dry out my skin any further. For toner I like to use Lush Tea Tree Water (link) I spritz this on a cotton pad & wipe over my face, so after its been through that ordeal I like to just chill out & let the moisturizer sink in using a generous layer of Aveeno cream (link) & just before bed I put on another layer. For the cheeky spots that like to appear I use either Lush Grease Lightning (link), tea tree oil (link) or good old Germolene (link).

Weekly Routine
Once a week while I have coconut oil (link) in my hair wrapped in a plastic bag (yes it's as sexy as it sounds). I use a nourishing face mask usually from Superdrug (link) that's in the little sachets I tend to pick out the yogurt smoothie one as its for dry skin & it smells delicious.

Apologies for the lack of lids, if it's not attached its gone!
What's your skincare routine?

The To Do List 2014

Farewell 2013 & hello to a new year its that time again that always seems to whiz past & by the time you realize its the middle of March. I hope you had an amazing New Years Eve or Hogmanay as we Scots call it & nursing a well deserved hangover (my cure roll & square sausage with potato scone & glass of blue top milk.) As tradition I thought that I would make a little 'to do list/resolutions' of what I want to achieve in the new year.

Pass my driving & theory test
I already have a car waiting for me outside 'Wee Betty' I should be out tooting in it all the time but the truth is I'm terrified of driving but will hopefully get better with more practice.
Get lighting for videos
With this crappy Scottish weather the lighting hasn't been great & using the lamps in my house just isn't the best.
Be more consistent with blogging & youtube
I know I've just started  but I'm not consistent enough with my uploading but hopefully that will change.
Take more photos & actually get them printed
With all this technology its been years since I've actually printed photos, & have a blank photo album waiting to be filled.
Go on more walks
I used to walk everywhere for miles & really enjoyed it- this past year I've been pretty lazy with it. I'm sure my doggies will love the new adventures.
Be healthier
This ones a given we all want to this, I wrote in a previous post that I'm starting slimming world again & also want to get fit by doing fun exercise classes- the gym just isn't for me.
Be more adventurous
I'm at that age were I really shouldn't care about what people think & just step out of my comfort zone in all aspects.
And above all be true to myself

What's your to do list for 2014?
